International online workshop

“Foresight Tools: Evolution and New Approaches”

Organised by the Editorial Board of the interdisciplinary academic journal Foresight and STI Governance (published by the National Research University Higher School of Economics)

How could “invisible” trends and processes that form the near and distant future be identified? How one can make forecasts more accurate? Why does this require a focus shift from patched, event-based understanding to a comprehensive multidimensional one? How complexity, uncertainty, and volatility can be mastered? How to find solutions of complex issues at a level higher than that at which they originate?

The world's leading experts will answer these and other important questions. To be successful in the world of exponentially growing information and networks, the knowledge about complex systems, dynamic complexity, and non-linearity is crucial. Invited experts not only possess this unique knowledge, but also establish new discourse, move beyond the established mainstream. The workshop program covers new approaches to strategic planning and scenario analysis, new methods of foresight, efficient expert procedures.

The workshop speakers are researchers and practitioners from Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, and Russia. 

Format: online (Zoom). The workshop will be broadcasted live on the ISSEK HSE YouTube channel.
